JJ Redick ‘Confident’ Lakers Will Reach ‘Level That We Want To Get To’ After Beating Warriors

The Los Angeles Lakers entered Saturday as losers of three straight games and five of their last seven, but they rebounded nicely with a 129-101 road win over the Golden State Warriors.

During his postgame press conference, Lakers head coach JJ Redick expressed confidence that the team will get to the level it wants to achieve.

“I’m confident we are gonna find that level that we want to get to,” Redick said. “And it’s been partially just because of the disruption of lineups and different factors, we just haven’t had the continuity that I thought we were gonna have coming into the year. It’s taken longer than I thought, but I’m confident we’re gonna get there.”

Lakers star LeBron James, who stuffed the stat sheet and wasn’t far off a triple-double (22 points, nine assists and seven rebounds), also spoke with team reporter Mike Trudell after the game about the team’s positive play:

L.A. led by 13 points after one quarter, 18 points at halftime and 27 points after the end of the third. The Lakers shot 53 percent from the field and 46 percent from the three-point line while posting 29 assists and just nine turnovers.

It was a nice bounce-back win after the Lakers lost back-to-back games on the final possession. Despite the recent skid, L.A. is also in decent shape in the standings with a 35-24 record, good enough for sixth in the Western Conference but just two games back of the third-place Houston Rockets.

The Lakers have a chance to go on a run here with seven of their next eight games at home. Four of those contests are against teams who are 12 games or more below .500, beginning with the Sacramento Kings on Sunday in L.A.
