De’Aaron Fox Plans to Frame Photo with LeBron James After All-Star Game Buzzer-Beater

Years from now when De’Aaron Fox is retired and reflecting back on his career, he can tell people he played alongside one of the NBA’s all-time greats in an All-Star Game.

And he will have the picture to prove it.

After the San Antonio Spurs guard hit a buzzer-beater to give the USA Stripes team a victory over the USA Stars team as part of Sunday’s All-Star festivities, he was pictured celebrating with LeBron James.

“I saw the picture with me and Bron… that’s got to be one of the best pictures, I think that I have,” he told reporters. He also said he was going to get it framed and “might have to have him sign it.”

Fox’s buzzer-beater capped off an incredible stretch that saw Anthony Edwards score five quick points with a steal to take the lead before the Spurs star responded with the buzzer-beater:

That Fox appreciated the moment with James comes as no surprise, as the 41-year-old is an NBA icon who has defined a generation of the league for his 23 seasons. That he is still playing at a high enough level at this point of his career to participate in these All-Star Games is notable, and he was fired up when his temporary teammate drained the buzzer-beater Sunday.

Fox was only there as an injury replacement for Giannis Antetokounmpo, but he took full advantage of his opportunity.

It was his second All-Star Game selection, which puts him a mere 20 behind James.

He will never catch the King, but he will at least always have the photograph commemorating when they played together.
