Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese powered the United States to a dominant 93-59 win over Italy on Saturday as Team USA continued to roll through the qualifying group phase in the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup.
With its third straight victory, the United States hasn’t just been winning — it has been dominating. Each of its wins has come by at least 34 points, including a 64-point blowout of Senegal.

On Saturday, Clark finished with 12 points off the bench on 80 percent shooting from the field in just under 22 and a half minutes. She added five assists and five rebounds to the mix to help lift the United States.
Reese added five points in just over 13 and a half minutes off the bench, along with seven rebounds. The performance came on the heels of her double-double against Puerto Rico, where she scored 10 points on 50 percent shooting and grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds.
Among the starters, Kahleah Copper led the way with 15 points. Chelsea Gray added 11 points and eight assists, while Jackie Young contributed 11 points and six rebounds.
Paige Bueckers provided a spark down the stretch, scoring 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting while adding a steal and a block on the defensive end.
The United States stayed hot from the field, shooting 61 percent overall and 52 percent from beyond the arc while applying constant defensive pressure on Italy. Team USA also controlled the glass, outrebounding Italy 37-25 and forcing turnovers with 11 steals.
Team USA held a dominant 20-point lead at the half powered by 11 points from Gray, 10 from Copper and seven from Clark off the bench while Dearica Hamby added six rebounds and Reese added five.
Team USA maintained a decisive 69–45 lead entering the fourth quarter and did not look back, adding 24 points in the fourth quarter to close out the lopsided victory.
The U.S. women’s national team clinched its spot in the FIBA World Cup by winning the 2025 FIBA AmeriCup and has carried that momentum into the qualifying rounds, opening with an undefeated record while giving players valuable opportunities to build chemistry and compete for World Cup roster spots.
