TikTok said it would restore service to U.S. users after blocking it for some 170 million American users. The video platform said President-elect Donald Trump provided necessary assurances to the company’s service providers. During his campaign, Trump, who had advocated for a ban during his first term as president, came out in support of TikTok, saying he’d save it.
