Prince George was front and centre as the Royal Family
celebrated him becoming a teenager.
As George turned 13, the Prince and Princess of Wales shared
another video from a sunny holiday in Cornwall. And in it, the now
teenage prince was seen taking the lead in a fun filled day
out.
The second in line to the throne was seen skipping across rocks
with his younger brother, Louis, following in his footsteps.
The Wales children were also seen enjoying cricket on the beach
while George heaped hugs on the family’s pet dog.
The video was shared with a thank you message for all the good
wishes sent to George as he reached his milestone birthday.
Kensington Palace
Earlier, the Prince and Princess of Wales had released a new
portrait of their eldest child to celebrate his big day.
George was seen looking rather grown up in a suit and shirt
combo. The new photo, taken by Matt Porteous, also shows what’s
been clear from recent public appearances – Prince George is
getting tall.
When he accompanied his parents to the Men’s Singles Final at
Wimbledon earlier in July, it was clear that George is fast
catching up with his mum, Kate, and will soon be as tall as her.
He’s still several inches off his taller father, Prince William,
but George appears to be taking after both parents and growing up
tall.
The birthday itself was spent privately – George finished at
Lambrook school earlier this summer. In September, he moves to Eton
College where he will become a boarder. He is following in the
footsteps of his father who also attended the famous school.
Charlotte and Louis will remain at Lamrbook which is close to
their home on the Windsor estate, Forest Lodge.
King Charles also wished his eldest grandchild a happy birthday
on social media with Buckingham Palace resharing the new
portrait.
