The Princess of Wales has added a nautical-inspired cashmere knit to her wardrobe, but it will set you back £298
In a picture-perfect family photo shared by Kensington Palace to celebrate the Prince and the Princess of Wales‘ 15th wedding anniversary, Kate looks as radiant as ever. And if the green grass, golden sunshine and perfectly placed daisies don’t instantly conjure up an image of summer for you, the Princess’ outfit certainly will.
Wearing what appears to be a new wardrobe addition, Veronica Beard’s Shana striped cashmere sweater, Kate’s outfit has a ‘holiday in France’ feel, thanks to the Breton stripes. As you might expect, though, this is anything but a cheap knit. The exact sweater will set you back £298 – unless you’re lucky enough to snap it up while it’s on sale for £149 this week. We can’t imagine sizing will last long either way.
Kate’s version of the Shana sweater has a cream base with navy stripes, but the one currently up for grabs is navy with cream stripes, leading us to wonder if the exact colourway has already sold out. However, if you want to copy Kate, you only need to look at Boden, where a similar style of top is retailing for a much more purse-friendly price.

The brand’s Supersoft Boat Neck T-Shirt retails for £29 but offers a similar look and shape to the Princess’ premium pick. With classic Breton stripes, navy and cream colouring, and shorter sleeves, it makes the perfect Royal-approved spring outfit when paired with light-coloured jeans.
Boden also offers the Button Detail T-Shirt in Navy and Ivory Stripe, which has a 100% cotton fabric and looks a little more like a short-sleeve jumper, like Kate’s. Still affordable, you can shop it for £35.
