Meghan Markle’s latest TV appearance revealed as she launches new money-spinner


It has been revealed that Meghan Markle has filmed a segment for MasterChef Australia, where she will be a guest judge and has also joined a new online fashion business

Meghan Markle will be returning to television screens as a guest judge on a hugely popular show for her latest TV appearance, it has been revealed.

She and Prince Harry are currently in the middle of a four-day trip Down Under, visiting Melbourne and Sydney. as a guest judge on a the new series of Today, only Harry conducted public engagements, with Meghan not being seen.

However, it appears she was filming an episode of MasterChef Australia, which will form part of its 18th season. It has also emerged that Meghan has invested and joined an online fashion business, which will allow her to make money from her outfits.

During her MasterChef Australia appearance, the Duchess will mentor and guide the cooks alongside regular judges Poh Ling Yeow, Sofia Levin and Jean-Christophe Novelli. The programme premieres on 10 And 10 Streaming in Australia on Sunday.

The new season of MasterChef Australia features some of the “most impressive amateur cooks the competition has ever seen”, according to a media alert from the Sussexes. Previous seasons of the Australian show have been aired on Channel 4 in the UK.

Former guest judges on the show include British celebrity chefs Gordon Ramsay and Jamie Oliver, with Rick Stein due to be a guest judge later in the new season. In preview footage shared on Australian media, Meghan, who is introduced as the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, hugs her fellow judges before waving to the contestants and saying: “Hi everybody.”

The duchess has her own food line, including jams, cookie mixes and herbal teas as part of her lifestyle brand As Ever. Her appearance on the show will see her follow in the footsteps of King Charles and Queen Camilla, who also appeared on an episode of the show back in 2018. It came as the contestants made canapes for an episode of the show, which featured the then Prince Charles.

Meanwhile, it has been announced that Meghan has joined online AI-powered fashion platform OneOff, where fans can buy selected items worn by celebrities. The platform already features two of the outfits she has so far worn in Australia. It shows that at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne yesterday, she wore a £922 dress by Australian designer Karen Gee and £88 Christian Dior leather pumps.

OneOff said in a statement: “Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, has just joined fashion discovery platform OneOff as a participant and investor to create exclusive edits of her looks and give users direct access to shop her wardrobe. This week’s trip to Australia, where she will be seen wearing many local Australian brands, will be included on her page, in addition to beloved past looks.”

A publicist said Meghan was “excited to join the platform because it creates an interactive closet experience for consumers”. They added: “OneOff has a global reach that allows users to access information on styles worn for both public appearances and everyday life and makes sure the right designers are getting the proper credit.

“She cares about fashion and was motivated to invest not only to expand her portfolio, but to help uplift the fashion designers she is a fan of.” Meghan joins other investors and participants in the platform including Kate Hudson, Emma Roberts and Suki Waterhouse.

Later this week, Meghan will be interviewed on stage at a “girls’ weekend” retreat in Sydney, costing £1,400 per ticket. VIP tickets for the event at the five-star InterContinental Coogee Beach hotel cost £1,670 and include a group table photo with the duchess.

It is believed that attendees must have security clearance before being able to attend, with the use of mobile phones strictly prohibited. Meghan’s appearance at the retreat was announced last month by Gemma O’Neill, host of the Her Best Life podcast, which is organising the 300-person event.

A previous advert for the event said: “A girls’ weekend like no other! An unforgettable weekend for women ready to reconnect, recharge and have some serious fun. Join us for an intimate luxury weekend by the ocean designed to bring women together for powerful conversations, relaxation, laughter and unforgettable experience.” The agenda is said to include yoga classes, panel events, a fire-side chat with Meghan and a disco party.
