It was back to business for Princess Anne as the Royal Family
was hit by one of its biggest shocks in decades.
On the day after her brother, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, was
released under investigation by police, the Princess Royal was on a
set of engagements in Yorkshire.
The Princess headed to Sheffield and Rotherham for long standing
events.
The King’s only sister had engagements lined up at MTL Advanced
Defence and Security Factory in Brinsworth, Rotherham and Meadows
Nursery, Shirecliffe Community Centre in Sheffield. She was also
due to visit Baby Basics in Sheffield and spend time at the
Yorkshire Crisp Company in the city.
Princess Anne had been out on royal duty on the day of Andrew’s
arrest as well. In a strange twist of fate, she was scheduled to
visit HMP Leeds. The Princess Royal was there in her role as patron
of the Butler Trust, a position she’s held since 1985.
The Royal Family had a number of engagements scheduled for
February 19 2026, the day that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was
arrested by officers who arrived at his home on the Sandringham
estate just after 8am. He was released almost 11 hours later under
police investigation. He was detained on suspicion of misconduct in
public office.
Soon after the arrest of his brother, King Charles issued a
statement in which he said ”Let me state clearly: the law must
take its course.”
The King later attended the opening of London Fashion Week where
he sat with Stella McCartney on the Front Row to watch a catwalk
show.
Queen Camilla also had style in mind on her engagement that same
day as she welcomed Dame Anna Wintour to an audience where they
also discussed the impact of The Queen’s Reading Room.
At the weekend, Princess Anne has more engagements. On February
21, she is due to attend the Six Nations Rugby Match between Wales
and Scotland at the Principality Stadium, Cardiff.
