Who Is Colton Underwood’s Husband? All About Jordan C. Brown-Underwood

Years after putting his dating life in the spotlight on The Bachelor, Colton Brown-Underwood married his husband, Jordan C. Brown-Underwood, in 2023.

Colton was first linked to the political strategist in September 2021, just a few months after coming out as gay during an April 2021 appearance on Good Morning America. In a conversation with PEOPLE that December, Colton revealed that he “found somebody” and was “very much in love,” but also explained that he wanted to keep their romance more private following his tumultuous split from Cassie Randolph.

“Everybody went through my breakup [with Randolph] and the ups and downs of my dating life,” Colton, who is competing on season 4 of The Traitors, said. “It’s nice for me to have something for myself.”

Colton and Randolph were together for over a year after he gave her the final rose on his season of The Bachelor. They split in May 2020, and that September, she filed a restraining order against him for allegations including stalking and harassment. According to the restraining order request obtained by PEOPLE, Randolph alleged that Underwood put a tracking device on her vehicle in an attempt to keep tabs on her whereabouts and showed up to both her Los Angeles apartment and her parents’ house in Huntington Beach, Calif., unannounced.

Randolph dropped her restraining order against Colton in November of that year. In a statement to PEOPLE, Colton confirmed that he and Randolph “were able to reach a private agreement.”

He is from California

Jordan was born in 1982 and raised in California.

He stayed in his home state for college, attending Stanford University, per his LinkedIn. Jordan graduated in 2004 with his bachelor’s degree in political science and English.

He is a political strategist

In January 2020, Jordan founded One Blue Hill, a political strategy agency, per his LinkedIn.

According to the company’s website, the political strategist has previously worked on local, state and national campaigns, including for former Presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden. He helped raise money and engage celebrity surrogates for Obama’s 2008 and 2012 campaigns. Jordan also served on the National Finance Committee, the Innovation Policy Working Group and the Entertainment Advisory Council for Biden’s campaign.

Jordan focuses on legislation and advocacy campaigns for a range of issues, from LGBTQ+ rights to poverty and immigration, per the site.

They met at a party in Los Angeles

Colton and Jordan first crossed paths in 2021 at a party in downtown L.A., as they shared with PEOPLE in May 2023. Reflecting on his first impression of Jordan, Colton said there was a “sense of easiness.”

While they didn’t talk much that night, the two reconnected a few months later during a group trip to Provincetown, Mass. The weather was cold and rainy, giving them a lot of indoor time “to get to know each other,” Colton explained.

Jordan shared that he hadn’t seen The Bachelor, which Colton was “grateful” for.

“It gave me an opportunity to connect and get to know somebody without them feeling like they had a version or an idea of who I was, so it was refreshing,” he said.

They got married in May 2023

After getting engaged in February 2022, Colton and Jordan tied the knot in May 2023. The three-day affair took place in Napa Valley, Calif., including a ceremony at the Carneros Resort and Spa.

Ahead of their nuptials, the pair spoke to PEOPLE about what was slated for the celebratory weekend, including a performance from Stanford University’s artistic swimming team as everyone exited the ceremony, which was followed by a disco-themed pool party.

They became parents in September 2024

In September 2024, Colton and Jordan announced on Instagram that they had become parents to their son, Bishop Colton Brown-Underwood.

“Our world is a million times better with you in it,” they captioned the joint post.

After first announcing that they were expecting a baby via surrogate during a May 2024 interview with Men’s Health, Colton shared his excitement about becoming a father to PEOPLE.

“That was one of the things we bonded over early in our relationship. We both wanted to be dads,” Colton said. “But it’s been such an incredible experience for us to go through this together, and I cannot wait to watch Jordan become a dad.”

Since welcoming Bishop, Colton has shared many glimpses of fatherhood on social media, from coordinated Halloween costumes to family days at the pumpkin patch.

In September 2025, Colton shared a birthday tribute to Bishop on Instagram, writing, “In just twelve months, you’ve taught me more than I could have ever imagined…about patience, about slowing down, and most of all, about love.”
