Prince George attends major Remembrance event for first time

Prince George has attended the Festival of Remembrance for the
first time.

The prince, 12, arrived at the Royal Albert Hall with his mum,
the Princess of Wales, for the tribute.

George, second in line to the throne, shook hands with the
welcoming committee as Kate kept close to him.

The King and Queen arrived shortly after them.

Prince William isn’t attending this year as he has just returned
to the UK from Brazil where he represented The King at the COP30
Heads of State meeting.

The Royal Family always turns out in force for the Festival
which is organised by the Royal British Legion.

The evening of music, personal stories and military spectacle
pays tribute to all those who have served and to those who have
given their lives for their country.

This year’s event includes appearances from Hannah Waddingham,
Sir Rod Stewart and Sam Ryder.

Two performances are held every year with the Royal Family
traditionally attending the evening show.

The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and the Duke and Duchess of
Gloucester were also at the Royal Albert Hall.

The Princess Royal and Sir Tim Laurence are currently in
Australia where they are taking part in Remembrance events.

Prince George has attended a number of events in support of
military and veterans this year. He joined his parents at a special
reception for VE Day veterans at Buckingham Palace in May, on the
80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War in Europe.

The Royal Family will be at the Cenotaph on Remembrance Sunday
for the National Service with The King leading the nation in
mourning and laying a wreath.
