The Prince of Wales is ready to ban Andrew from every aspect of royal life when he becomes king it is claimed which would include him not being invited to the coronation
Prince William will be more ruthless and ban Andrew from “all elements” of royal life when he becomes King, it has been reported.
The Prince of Wales is understood to have held crisis talks with King Charles before Andrew made his statement to say he was relinquishing all his titles. Andrew said that he would no longer be known as the Duke of York and gave up other honours saying that the accusations against him by Virginia Giuffre “distract from the work of His Majesty and the royal family”.
He insisted he was putting his “family and country first” and would stop using “my title or the honours which have been conferred upon me” while at the same time denying all the allegations. Prince Andrew has consistently denied the allegations against him.

It comes as Ms Giuffre’s posthumous book is due out on Tuesday and is set to bring further attention on the sexual assault allegations and the prince’s friendship with paedophile Jeffrey Epstein which has led to the royal’s downfall. But amid the belief that Andrew’s day-to-day life will change little from giving up his titles if he is able to still live at the Royal Lodge on the Windsor estate and remains a prince, it is claimed that William will be a lot tougher with him as King.
It is alleged in The Times that William is not satisfied with the outcome so far of the so-called ‘Andrew problem’ and he will be banned “from all elements of royal life” when he is monarch. This would mean he would not be able to attend either public or private royal events including the coronation.
This would be a change from the current situation where he has gone to Christmas and Easter celebrations, while he also recently attended the Duchess of Kent’s funeral. It is reported that William sees Andrew as a “threat” and a “reputational risk” to the monarchy.
“We’re definitely in uncharted territory for royal scandals,” said a royal courtier. William is also set to ban Sarah Ferguson from royal events after she has now been stripped of her Duchess title.
She has remained close to Andrew since their 1996 divorce and her connections to Epstein have been in the spotlight recently over emails she sent him. Sarah said she had distanced herself from Epstein in a 2011 interview, where she apologised for accepting £15,000 from the sex offender.
“I abhor paedophilia and any sexual abuse of children and know that this was a gigantic error of judgment on my behalf. I am just so contrite, I cannot say. Whenever I can, I will repay the money and have nothing ever to do with Jeffrey Epstein ever again,” she said.
But emails published by The Sun, shows she took a very different tone with Epstein, where she “humbly apologised” for linking her “supreme friend” to paedophilia in the press, and praised him as “steadfast” and “generous”. In response, Sarah’s spokesperson issued a statement explaining that the email had been sent “in the context of advice the duchess was given to try to assuage Epstein and his threats”.
