October is here and the League Division Series are underway in the 2025 MLB playoffs. The 12-team postseason bracket has been trimmed down to eight teams with four intriguing matchups this round: Cubs vs. Brewers, Yankees vs. Blue Jays, Dodgers vs. Phillies and Tigers vs. Mariners. Three teams are already facing elimination in the LDS round, however — the Yankees, Cubs and Phillies. The Yankees, facing the Blue Jays in the Bronx on Tuesday night, need to win Game 3 to stay alive. The Mariners took down the Tigers earlier Tuesday, giving them a 2-1 series lead in that ALDS matchup.

The Brewers and Dodgers will go for NLDS sweeps on Wednesday after those series relocate to Chicago and Los Angeles, respectively. Both the Dodgers and Brewers took commanding 2-0 series leads on Monday night. L.A. won its second game in a row in Philly, holding off the Phillies despite a ninth-inning rally. The Brewers, meanwhile, slugged a pair of three-run home runs to push the Cubs to the brink of elimination.
The Brewers, Blue Jays, Phillies and Mariners all earned first-round byes this season, but the Cubs, Yankees, Dodgers and Tigers all needed to win Wild Card Series to get here. The Dodgers completed a two-game sweep of the Reds, while the Cubs, Yankees and Tigers all needed three games to advance and knock out the Padres, Red Sox and Guardians, respectively.
The best-of-five League Division Series could run through Oct. 11 and the 2025 World Series begins on Oct. 24. Below is a look at the full 2025 MLB playoff bracket.
