Robert MacIntyre cut a frustrated figure during an interview after he narrowly lost to Scottie Scheffler at the BMW Championship.
Scheffler won the second FedEx Cup playoff event at Caves Valley Golf Club in Maryland by finishing 15 under on the par-71 course.
His performance on Sunday marked an impressive comeback against MacIntyre, who held a four-shot lead ahead of the final day.
And his frustrations were clear to see afterwards having missed out on what would have been the third PGA Tour title win of his career.
“I mean, he seems to be hitting every fairway, every green,” a reporter said of Scheffler during an interview with MacIntyre.
“It’s kind of the two of you out front, that’s got to put extra pressure… you know he’s not going to blink, right?”
“Not at all, I can’t control what he does,” said MacIntyre. “Look, I mean, he doesn’t hole out, he doesn’t get up and down on 17, he holes it.
“If he didn’t get up and down there, my ball didn’t fly two yards long, it may have been a different story.
“But look, he’s a better player on the day. Yeah, I’m just really p***ed off right now.”
The reporter then asked: “What do you see as improvements you feel like you need to make?”
But MacIntyre made it clear that he’s not looking at how to refine his game just yet given the manner in which he lost the tournament.
“I don’t… I mean, right now, not a clue,” he said. “Right now, I want to go and smash up my golf clubs, to be honest with you.”

What’s next in the FedEx Cup playoffs?
The PGA Tour championship trophy event began with the St. Jude Championship at TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tennessee.
Justin Rose won his first tournament title with victory over J. J. Spaun in a play-off after they both finished 16 under.
Following Scheffler’s victory at the BMW Championship, the FedEx Cup playoffs will conclude this weekend with the Tour Championship.
The top 30 players in the points rankings will compete for the title, so stars including Scheffler, MacIntyre, Spaun and Rose are set to play.
Rory McIlroy will also feature at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia despite controversially missing the St. Jude Championship.
The 2025 Masters champion opted out after a 72-hole stroke format returned to the Tour Championship, replacing starting strokes.

Previous editions saw the player at the top of the FedEx Cup points list allowed to start ten-under par in the final playoff event.
McIlroy, second in the standings, was already set to feature in the 50-man field for the BMW Championship.
His decision to sit out the first playoff event was unlikely to have had an impact on his ability to play at the Tour Championship.
All 30 players will begin on level-par and the winner will bank $10million [£7.4m] in winnings from a total purse of $40m [£30m].
